Falcon Jan 2, 2017 @ 10:32am. GTA VC Cannot Find 640x480 Video mode. I am aware there are countless threads on here covering this topic. However, the proposed solutions don't seem to be working for me as they have for everyone else. Hitting compatability mode, then ticking "Run as Administrator," Reduced Color Mode (16 Bit), Run is 640x480

The concerning part is when none of the solution seem to work. All the online solutions say to edit the "Compatibility" of the game by finding the .exe file, right clicking and selecting "properties", and then "Compatibility". There is a checkbox for "Run in 640x480 screen resolution" that the internet says to "check". So I did - nothing.

C:\Users\\Documents\GTA Vice City User Files\gta_vc.set Move it or delete, start the game, and you're all set! The game runneth! Gave saves! Now, this is a big one. You do not want to lose all the old goodies you've accumulated through blood and sweat and tears and many, many long hours of hard game.

I have tryed a lot of things but no one seems to work: 1)reinstalling the game. 2)executing gta-vc.exe in compatibility mode (Vista, XP, Me, 98 none works) 3)installing 1.1 patch. 4)updating every single driver. 5)deleting "user files" folder in Documents. 6)formatting and re-installing the operative system, twice.
