KTM has introduced variations of this model. The 1290 Super Adventure S and 1290 Super Adventure R were added to the lineup in 2017. The newly launched versions included redesigned headlights, 6" color TFT dashboard, and six-gallon fuel tank. If you are looking for more off-road adventures, the R model of the 1290 Super Adventure is a better fit.
So unless I find a deal on a professionally-lowered 1290R, that likely limits the KTM choices down to a used 1190 S or a used/leftover 1290 S (don't want or need the the 1290 T's huge tank). For what it's worth, the 1290 S felt and looked absolutely fantastic. If a good deal pops up on a leftover new or used one of those, that would be tempting.
